Duoro Valley, Portugal

Not too much to write at this time. We drove back into Portugal to spend the next four days in the Duoro where they grow the grapes for Port wine. We are in the mountains and the sides of them are terraced and covered with grape vines, olive trees, almond trees and other fruit trees. In fact, we purchased some cherries from a woman on the side of the road. Our first cherries of the year. They definitely are earlier here than in the US. So so good!

We are staying at a quinta and Rita, the host, is so sweet. She is fixing dinner for us and is actually doing our laundry. We knew there was a washing machine here and that was an important cinsoderation in our selection of this place. Well, when I asked her about it and for directions to a store to buy laundry powder, she said not to bother, they have plenty. Got our clothes ready and asked her to point me in the direction of the machine and she just reached for the basket and bag and said she will let us know when they are ready.

I can't believe these folks that we have met through AirBnB!!!

I'll have photos tomorrow and lots more info. You folks won't believe this place!

Ciao!
