Another early morning tour, on the bus at 8:30. We had the cutest little blond guide and she was so honest and blunt. She talked about the corruption by the politicians and talked about the upcoming presidential inauguration. The newly elected president has never been involved in the political arena. He owned and ran a multi-million dollar business and the thinking among the locals is that if he could run a company to success he should be able to run a country. She then followed that comment with the statement " or maybe he just stole all the money and will do the same to us."
Bratislava was surprisingly beautiful. It also has a lot of signs of communist rule.
Thought this was a cool bridge |
Bratislava Castle |
This gentleman was on our cruise and I just had to take his photos. He was a lovely man who lives in Ohio and is from Croatia. He has a beautiful and very fashionable young wife and we just couldn't understand how she could let him go out with this horrible toupee. You be the judge.
OK so much for that! Bratislava is only 6856 KM from New York City - just a bit of trivial information.
So these bikes were in this square and they just screamed "ride me!" So I did! I will admit it was a lot easier getting off than getting on.
Just live the porcelain tile roofs. |
Aren't these the coolest manhole covers? |
This is a statue of a well-known (in Bratislava) character and I thought it was a great statue.
Below is another cool statue - except he's not standing up but danger crawling out of a manhole. Really cool!
We passed this restaurant as we were walking back to the ship. The best part was not the sign but their "mascot."
Budapest tonight and then two days. Can't wait to see this lovely city again. We will also be having dinner with Our friends Attila and Magonna. Will write more about that in my next post. Night all!
